Origin of the barriques:
PRUNUS CERASUS: GREAT QUALITY WOOD, VERY HARD AND
COMPACT, ORANGE WITH DARK RED NUANCES. IT COULD BE FOUND IN VALPOLLICELLA IN THE MEDIOEVAL PERIOD ALREADY, IT SPREAD LARGELY AFTER WWI, IN THE PERIOD OF THE RECONSTRACTION OF THE VINEYARDS DESTOYED BY THE WINEPEST (PHYLLOXERA). THE CHERRY TREE, NOT DEMANDING BUT YET PARTICULARLY GENEROUS, REPRESENTED A SUPPORTING FUNCTION FOR THE VINES AND IT GARANTUEED A RICH AND EASILY ACHIEVED INCOME. AFTER MORE THAN HALF OF A CENTURY, WITH THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE WINE-PEST, THE CHERRY TREE SHOWS ITS GENEROUSITY AGAIN, PROVIDING HIGH-QUALITY WOOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SETTLING BARRELS. THE SEASONING OF THE WOOD, AFTER THE FELLING AND THE CHOPPING, TAKES PLACE NATURALLY AND IT LASTS AT LEAST 26 MONTHS, SIX IN THE FELLING PLACE.

THE STEAM-BENDING TECHNIQUE IS APPLIED TO THE STAVES, IN ORDER TO PRESERVE THE AROMATIC FEATURES OF THE WOOD.

This Grappa di Moscato is produced with an accurate selection of moscato ‘s marcs coming from the best areas of production, and it is made through the discontinuous system by steam-draught copper pots. The ageing (8 years) in barriques of different woods gives to this grappa an amber colour, a complex, delicate and wide taste, with strong personality.

Full of perfume, particularly sclary sage, grapefruit, and vanilla. Rich and wide taste, with a long persistence of silk structure in the mouth.

A precious Grappa aged for 36 months in small oak casks. Rich and intense taste providing silky-smooth, long-lasting and pleasingly enveloping sensations. Marzadro dedicates “Giare” to commemorate the women who had suffered pain and injustice by being accused of sorcery in the Giare locality, in the province of Nogaredo, around 1646. They were then put to trial and condemned to death.

This is an aged, high quality Grappa, which is emblematic of the culture, care and art of distilling. It is produced from the best marc of Trent, from selected vines, and distilled in the typical still. The Grappa is left to refine for over two years in small cherry, ash, oak and robinia casks, each of which lends its characteristic perfume, aroma, colour and flavour. Aging follows nature’s rhythms. Sowly, through time, the wood and Grappa evolve to create full harmony, while the final blend is expressed in the ethereal perfume and the round taste, with a hint of vanilla.

Le Diciotto Lune is a high-profile Grappa, which suggests a variety of different situations for consumption, as an ideal opportunity to stress important and pleasant events.

The knowledge and the passion of the founder of the distillery, Paolo Bert, together with the masterful blend of the varieties that are the best of Piedmont, Nebbiolo for Barolo and Barbera d’Asti, generates this product. The marcs coming from only the very best areas are distilled separately through the discontinuous system by steam-draught copper pots. Once blended, grappa is placed inside small barrels of different woods for 20 years. It is amber colored, the fragrance is complex, full, wide, with a strong personality: a wonderful mix of perfumes, particularly of ripe fruits, cherry, tobacco, cocoa, and vanilla. The rich and wide taste confirms the alluring sensations perceived in its fragrance.
