Sweet Wines

Alibernet 2005 "Ledové" (Ice wine)

Vinařství Veverka | Sweet Wines | Czech Republic | 715.00 CZK

Ice wine has been a tradition in the Czech Republic for as long as anyone can remember. The grapes are harvested late and in the dead of winter when the grapes are frozen by the extreme cold. This concentrates the sugars and provides for a very sweet desert wine.

This wine is made from the same grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante Bouche) as the regular Alibernet, however, do to the difference in harvest time and the unique wine making method, this wine has much more body and a very high natural sugar content making it quite sweet.

Among "Ice Wines" this one truly stands out as a leader.

This wine makes a great desert wine at the end of almost any meal or enjoy it as an aperitif.
